Meinl Black River Series Djembes are made from a solid piece of plantation grown Mahogany wood.
the shell is then hand carved creating horizontal ripple motif that suggests a flowing river and the ropes are weaved in the traditional fashion. The pre-stretched ropes are made from PP nylon, and the head is made from hand-selected goat skin, making for a very authentic-sounding instrument.
