Boss is certainly no stranger to the world of guitar synthesizers. In fact, since the 1970s, Roland and Boss have been at the forefront of guitar synthesizers and MIDI controllers. After launching the absolutely epic SY-1000 in 2019, and then squeezing a bunch of synthesizer sounds into the real Eurus earlier this year, the Boss SY-200 became more traditional.

SY-200 is not as large as 1000, it is a pedal in itself. But it is definitely larger and more comprehensive than the compact Boss pedals you may be familiar with, such as the SY-1 synthesizer. 200 has 171 different sounds, distributed in 12 different categories, and can be played without special pickups.
