The D’Angelico Excel EXL-1 is a flagship archtop, inspired by John D’Angelico’s “Excel” model introduced in 1947. Ideal for rhythm and soloing, it offers a warm and articulate tone. Available in two configurations: a Seymour Duncan ’59 Humbucker for a big and sustained sound (Dark Iced Tea Burst) and a Johnny Smith Floating Mini-bucker for a woody and focused tone (Amber). Includes Grover hardware, ebony fingerboard and Jescar frets.
