Balanced XLR sockets are available for inputs and for two stereo inputs (a total of four XLR sockets) in addition to the phone jacks. Two stereo channels are compatible with mono microphone inputs through both the XLR and phone jacks. The MG8 / 2FX's remaining stereo inputs and the MG10 / 2's two remaining stereo inputs feature both phone jack and pin jack inputs for more connection options. A separate 2TR stereo input with pin-jack sockets is available for independent input of signals from CD players or similar sources.
The microphone preamps available for the two mono channels and two of the four stereo channels would be worth the full price of the mixer when sold individually. These high performance amplifiers allow you to get the most out of dynamic or condenser microphones.
All four mic preamps feature adjustable phantom power for the superior sound quality of condenser microphones found in professional studios. A single switch turns phantom power on or off for the four channels.
Mono input channels feature insert I / O patch points so you can add compressors or EQs for vocals, the noise gate on the guitar channel, or other signal analysis devices for individual channels.
Made for a precise and "musical" response, the three-band equalizers available for all input channels are an additional tool that can be used to create clean and professional mixes. All mono input microphone channels also feature an adjustable high pass filter that can be used to eliminate noise in the low frequencies.
