The Ottobit Jr is the adaptation in stompbox format, designed for guitarists, bassists and more, of the Ottobit module originally DESIGNED for synthesizers.
Basically, it is a bit crusher, that is a circuit that converts the input signal into digital, imposing on it a quality so reduced as to generate distortions and artifacts ranging from sounds vaguely similar to those of a ring modulator up to those of a fuzz particularly violent or an eight-bit synth, reminiscent of the typical music of video games of yesteryear.
The potentiometers in the upper part of the stompbox manage the Sample Rate and the Bits.
The latter, denoted by Filter, controls the opening of the sound in general for a more crisp and open or dark and warm tone.
On this basis, a six-stage step sequencer is added that can work both on the pitch of the notes and on the settings of the Filter.
It is fully programmable, with ease directly on the pedal, instrument in hand.
The Sequencer knob sets the amount of repetitions from a minimum of a single sequence up to an infinite loop, and works in combination with the Sequencer Mult selector, which multiplies its possibilities.
Finally, the speed of the steps can be adjusted with a comfortable tap tempo.
