WA-87 R2 Black - FET Condenser Microphone with Large Capsule

The WA-87 is based on a classic 60s circuit for what is universally recognized as one of the finest studio microphones ever designed. Warm Audio with the WA-87 has spent a lot of resources in trying to get as close as possible to the sound of the vintage version. It uses the highest quality components such as a Fairchild NOS transistor and wide bandwidth polystyrene WIMA capacitors. The WA-87 R2 uses a custom output transformer just like the original unit, with the new version providing a higher output level and improved frequency response. The WA-87 R2 is housed in a heavier and stronger nickel-plated shell, and the new round grille increases the space around the capsule. With authentic "vintage" warmth and softer, more detailed high frequencies, this mic has performance equal to microphones that cost up to five times as much.
